Happy Birthday to Patchwork Press! After two amazing years, we’re celebrating yet another birthday! And because birthdays are always a good time, we can’t let this one pass without some announcements. But first… a HUGE thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this ride with us so far. Authors, readers, our amazing interns, and friends… we couldn’t have gotten this far without every single one of you! This year is going to be the best one yet!

First up, we are SO beyond excited to welcome Erin Latimer to Patchwork Press. Our family is growing again, and we know she is going to be a great addition. Check out her welcome post for more information!

We’re also looking to expand further, and have changed our submission guidelines somewhat, focusing less on individual publishing skillsets (though quality of work is still a must!) and more on growing our community. Visit our submissions page for more information.

And it’s not just our author list that’s expanding. Patchwork Press has a brand new sister imprint! We’re very proud and excited to introduce Weapenry! A resource for writers to improve their craft, form a community, and learn more about all things publishing and marketing. Visit Weapenry.com for more information! And keep an eye on Weapenry for the next release from Kellie!

More exciting birthday news! Except, this time it isn’t PWP’s birthday that we’re excited about! We’ve launched a new project–because shared birthdays are awesome! We’d like to formerly introduce you to… Weapenry, our non-fiction arm dedicated to all things writing, publishing and marketing.

Co-founders Kellie Sheridan and Erica Crouch have always been big believers in the business of self-publishing. Now, they have teamed together again to to form Weapenry, a well of resources for writers looking to make the most of their writing career.

Indie authors are talented, tenacious, and absurdly creative. But going it alone can sometimes be tough. Here at Weapenry, we want to help writer reach their full potential. Independent authors shouldn’t feel in competition with one another: a rising tide lifts all boats. With nearly 20 titles to their names, Sheridan and Crouch want to share what they’ve learned.

Want to learn how to induce some “word magic” into your manuscript? Need advice on editing? Or maybe you’re tired of the same old ineffective marketing routine and are looking for something to inject in your plan to revitalize old titles. Whatever your publishing need, Weapenry is here to help!

What can you look forward to in the future with Weapenry?

  • Nonfiction books on writing, publishing, and marketing
  • Free content and advice from industry professionals
  • Online seminars
  • And more to come!

Needless to say, we’re excited! So head on over to Weapenry.com and see what we’ve been working on!

We are beyond excited to announce a new addition to the Patchwork Press family! Erin Latimer (or E. Latimer as her many fans know her) is a Wattpad superstar, one of the WordNerds along with Kellie and Erica, and all in all, a perfect addition to the Patchwork Press family. Erin’s first book with Patchwork Press will be coming out later this year, but if you can’t wait for a peek, be sure to check her out on Wattpad.

A note from Erin

“I`m so excited to make this announcement. And proud. And excited. Okay, mostly excited. I`m so happy to be joining the ladies at Patchwork Press and I look forward to working with them on the launch of the FROST series.

The book started out online, born from a simple question of “What would you like to read next?” propelled by reader`s speculation and suggestions all the while I was writing it. So it only makes sense that it would be championed by a press that is run by readers and writers. By a community.

With the upcoming launch, and the support of Patchwork Press, I hope to expand my community even more.”

Published by Patchwork Press on May 5, 2015
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult

Goodreads

Synopsis:

Kalaziel is a terrible guardian angel: her temper’s shorter than she is, she swears, she’s missing a wing, and she sees no problem with letting man make their own choices—no matter how questionable. That’s what free will is all about, right? Her overseers disagree.

After she mishandles an assignment, Heaven strips Kala of her title and throws her back into training, hoping to reinforce the covenant of vows she swore to uphold as a guardian. But the angels’ motives aren’t as pure as they appear: they want to eradicate any opinions that conflict with Heaven’s code.

With a mass cleansing on the horizon, Kala discovers she is not alone in her insubordination; there are other angels who are restless with the stasis of Heaven and ready for change. Progress doesn’t come easily, though, especially when it means uniting ancient enemies to fight for a common cause.

Engage is a novella that prequels Kala and Ana’s story in Incite.

The day is finally here! We are so thrilled to finally share the cover reveal of Erica Crouch’s Engage, the next installment in the Ignite seriesEngage follows Kala and Ana’s story before the events that unfold in Incite.

Engage comes out May 5th. You can preorder the ebook now on Amazon so you can get it the moment it’s out! Sign up to participate in the RELEASE DAY BLITZ!

We’re in love with the cover — the feathers! Kala! ANGELS FALLING FROM HEAVEN??? — but we want to know what you think! Let us know in the comments!

Erica Crouch is a young adult and new adult author from Baltimore, Maryland. She has a strange blended aesthetic of cute and spooky, and her books reflect her ever changing mood. (You may find romance, you may find gore—sometimes both in the same book, but probably not at the same time. Probably.)

Erica is the cofounder of Patchwork Press, an author-powered publisher of middle grade, young adult, and new adult titles. She is the head of editorial services and design, with nearly fifty projects to her name.
