Hello, hello, and welcome to Patchwork Press. Today we’re hosting a Featured Giveaway with Armchair BEA, giving away books for a year, so we wanted to take the time to tell everyone about some of our upcoming titles.

Our next release is less now only two weeks away! Ignite, from debut author, Erica Crouch.

About Ignite: Penemuel (Pen) fell from grace over a millennium ago, yet there are still times she questions her decision to follow her twin brother, Azael, to Hell. Now that the archangel Michael has returned, threatening Lucifer’s vie for the throne, she begins questioning everything she has always believed.
As Hell prepares for war – spreading a demonic virus and pilfering innocent souls to build an army – the lines separating the worlds blur. Fates erase and the future is left unwritten. Azael is determined that he and his sister will continue to serve as demons together, but for the first time in her life, Pen is not ruled by destiny. She has the freedom of choice.

With choice comes sacrifice, and Pen must decide which side she’s willing to risk everything fighting for: the light, or the dark.

Big news! Patchwork Press would like to offer a big, warm welcome to Janna Jennings, the newest author to join our ranks. We first came into contact with Janna when she won a NanoWriMo giveaway hosted by Ravven.com to help her publish her first novel. From there, things got a little crazy, but you’ll be seeing a lot more Janna round Patchwork Press from here on out.

About the author: Janna is a Colorado based YA author who loves a good fairy tale.  She’s married to her own real life Prince Charming, and will usually admit to being mom of three, including her incorrigible middle child.

She has a good deal of education in subjects that are somehow not related to writing, which includes a Masters in Education.  Currently she teaches toddlers important life skills like which end of a spoon to use and that gluesticks are not for eating.  They lack a few things that make a good literary critic, but she loves her students all the same.

About the book: We know, we know… the big questions are all about Janna’s book. We can’t announce anything quite yet, but there’s a lot of news coming in the next month, so watch this space. For now, all we can say that Janna’s debut novel is a little bit Grimm 😉

Happy reading!!!

You can find Janna on her website, or on Twitter.

netgalley logoNot too long ago, I tried to sign up for a NetGalley co-op. It didn’t quite work out because there were so many authors who wanted to get involved. Skipping to the end of this epic story–it all worked out. By teaming up with a group of incredible indies, Patchwork Press is now on NetGalley!!!

What is NetGalley? It’s a website where publishers and authors can upload their ebooks (usually ARCs, but their collection of older titles is on the rise) so that reviewers can request a copy. Then the author/publisher can approve/decline requests on a case by case basis. NetGalley’s roster of “professional readers” is huge, so this opens up a lot of doors usually closed to indies. NetGalley saves authors all kinds of time that’s usually spent contacting reviewers–time that can be spent writing!

Details
$350 per year*
Change out your title as often as you want, without having to worry about the admin side of things
*We’re currently looking into shorter term/less expensive options

Seeing Mortality in their catalog was a huge author moment for me. After spending two years using NetGalley from the reviewer side of things, I’m beyond excited that this is a marketing tool now available to self-published/indie authors. Seriously, really excited about this!!! Over the nineteen titles our co-op currently has on NetGalley, we have already had over 2100 requests, and we’ve only been live for five days!!! The most highly requested title has had over 250 approved requests already… if you’re an author, I’m sure you can imagine how long it would take to send that many review requests out, and you’d be lucky to hear back from even one in five of them.

So if you’re an indie/self-published author and you haven’t gotten involved in a co-op group yet, I can’t recommend it enough. The benefits are huge. And, it just so happens that Patchwork Press will be forming a second group from the first groups wait list. So… details!

How does a co-op work? As an indie author going it alone, if you want to get your book on NetGalley, the cost is $400–that gets you one title in their catalog for six months. You can’t switch titles. One book, six months.

Then, and I don’t knew whose idea this was originally, indie authors started to team up! By forming groups of twenty authors, they were able to cut costs, double their contract term and give themselves more flexibility in what they did with their NetGalley time. $350, one year, as many books as you want (but one title at a time). And voila, your book is on NetGalley. And at least with this particular co-op, the administrative end is minimal. All you need to do is send your books details to me in an easy to follow format, and we’ll take care of the rest. Your reviews are forwarded right to you as they’re submitted!

If you’re interested in joining, or have any questions, please feel free to email netgalley@patchwork-press.com and I’ll add you to our growing list of authors. Once the group is full, we’ll be up and running. And feel free to pass this information along to any authors you know who might be interested.

For a more in depth discussion on how this works, head over to Susan Kaye Quinn‘s blog. Her group has been up and running longer than we have. Highly recommended if this is something you’re considering.

Follow the White Rabbit

Happy release day to Kellie Sheridan‘s first book in the Beautiful Madness series, Follow the White Rabbit! Add it on GoodReads and get reading!!!

Synopsis: For centuries, Wonderland thrived as the domain of beautiful bedlam and unapologetic madness. It was a place like no other. All it took was one girl slipping in through the cracks of the universe to start chaos spiraling toward order. In the 150 years since Alice’s visit, the realm has become tainted—almost normal. Rabbits in waistcoats and playing card minions are little more than creatures of myth, and Wonderland is literally falling to pieces.

For Gwen, Rose, and Lucky, Wonderland is home, and yet they know little of its former glory. When the Alice prophecy resurfaces, they’ll have one chance to use Wonderland’s own legends to bring a little mayhem back into their reality. For she who controls Alice controls the fate of Wonderland.
